- Christmas is finally here and after a challenging year, it was wonderful for students and teachers to come together and celebrate festive activities that brought strong connections and good fun as we drew to the end of the school year.
- A gold coin donation was offered by students for this Christmas mufti day that is being donated to the Smith Family to support those less fortunate during this Christmas season.
On Thursday 9th December the whole school celebrated successfully navigating the long journey of school pathways in 2021. No one could have predicted the challenges we would face in teaching and learning this year. In recognition of our achievements and as an opportunity to bring a little fun and excitement to the end of this year, we celebrated Christmas at Gymea.
Each year group came together with their Year Advisers who organised a range of engaging team building activities for their students to participate in to celebrate Christmas together. These activities saw our Year 9’s in a reindeer sack race, our Year 10’s in a dance off, our Year 7’s making a giant mess trying to catch chocolate biscuits and whipped cream and our Year 8’s writing thoughtful Christmas messages. Following the fun-filled activities, Mrs Kimber and the Year 11 Hospitality Team cooked up a BBQ lunch for the whole school, served with a drink and ice block as part of the festivities.
Congratulations and thank you to all the Year Advisors and their helpers who created a host of very enjoyable and memorable activities for our junior students as part of the Christmas celebrations. The positivity, the laughter and the connections among these kids and their Year Advisors was so apparent. Congratulations and thank you to Mrs Kimber and the Year 11 Hospitality Team who provided food and refreshments for all students and staff at school on the day. What a wonderful way to come together as a school and celebrate the end of the year with all students.
