Year 12 have begun their Trial Higher School Certificate Examinations which serve as their final school-based assessment as they now lead into preparations for the Higher School Certificate Examinations in October.
Year 12 students will start to see their teachers making a number of resources available to them through their Google Classrooms to help them continue their quality preparations for their HSC Exams.
Organisation has begun with students and staff around our celebration activities for Year 12 and of course, their graduation which will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday 21 September.
This week, our Year 12 students began their Trial Higher School Certificate Exams, completing their English papers on Monday and Tuesday. Although there were nerves as they entered the Library on Monday morning, they have committed to these exams with the same diligence and determination we have watched from this group throughout this year.
The Trial Examinations allow our students to practice applying their knowledge across each of their courses to the style of questioning presented in the HSC Exams and experience the testing conditions before they undertake their final exams in Term 4. They are a crucial and important step in our students’ internal assessment that contributes towards their final HSC result.
We are incredibly proud of their efforts, not only this Term in preparing for these exams, but throughout this year with their formative and assessment tasks. With this, Year 12 students will start to see their teachers making a number of resources available to them through their Google Classrooms to help them continue their quality preparations for their HSC Exams. These will include access to regular, weekly formative tasks focused on timed HSC practice that will provide quality feedback every week until the HSC as well as a HSC Exam Practice Planner to accompany the Past HSC Exam folders all students received last term.
Following the Trial exams are the traditional end of year celebrations for our Year 12 students, including their Carnivale, Teacher v Students OzTag match and their Graduation. The students assisted by our staff have formed a number of teams to help prepare these events to celebrate their 13 years of schooling together. More information will follow for our families on these events, including the details around Graduation, which will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday 21 September.
